Changing your underwear should be part of your daily routine, even if you don’t have time to take a shower or shampoo your hair, at the very least you need changing your clothing. Are you guilty of not changing your underwear every single day? Okay, this is what can happen to you if you don’t!
Rashes :
You may break out in rashes if you don’t slip on a fresh pair of panties every single day. (Yikes!) If you have a vagina, your lady parts create a moist space. Moisture is healthy, but too much can lead to fungal and bacterial infections. Be sure to grab a new pair of undies every day to avoid too much moisture!
Weird Odors :
The vagina is known for being self-cleaning, but what most women don’t know is that it is only the vaginal canal that self-cleans. The exterior of your lady parts need to be cleaned and washed thoroughly – otherwise, it can start to smell less than beautiful down there…So, even if you bathe, changing your panties afterward is KEY.
Yeast Infections
Yeast thrives in moist surroundings and as we mentioned before: not changing your underwear, and washing and not drying, will make for an uncomfortable time. Yikes!
Chafing
Just like when your thighs rub on a hot summer day, chafing can happen to your vaginal area too. Sweating in the summer provides the moisture that irritates our skin between our thighs, and not changing your panties to a dry, clean pair can lead to vaginal redness, irritation, and if it gets worse it can peel and bleed.
Urinary Tract Infection.
(Not so) fun fact: Any dirty pair of underwear has small traces of fecal matter. This is why wearing a dirty pair for too long can spread bacteria to your poor lady parts and cause a Urinary Tract Infection.
Pubic Lice or Scabies
Last but certainly not the least disgusting effect of not changing your panties is the risk of pubic lice or scabies setting up camp. You can’t technically get pubic lice or scabies from not changing, but not changing can certainly make it worse (if that’s even possible?). Crabs like a moist, warm environment, and if you aren’t washing consistently they’ll just take over. Lice spread similarly enough that you’re susceptible to that, too.
So what did we learn today? Changing our underwear is right up there with our daily routines to drink water, eat and sleep.
